Divorce Mediation Costs

One of the reasons that divorce mediation is popular is because it is less expensive than hashing out divorce details in a court of law. The costs will vary slightly, depending on who you use, and we strongly recommend using a lawyer to draw up the legal papers and to help you make sure that everything in the divorce has been resolved. If you have concerns, please call us and we will arrange a meeting with one of our caring attorneys.

How Mediation Works

Once both spouses have agreed to mediation, there is an initial meeting between them and their mediator where the spouses and the mediator discuss the issues to be decided through mediation. Then, depending on the complexity of the divorce, there will be additional meetings held where spouses are encouraged to be honest and open about their feelings regarding the specific issue they are discussing. The mediator acts as a third party, guiding the discussion and making sure that both spouses are satisfied with the agreement based on full compliance with California Family Code and Court Rules.
