George N. Seide was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduation from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Psychology, Mr. Seide completed the Master of Arts in Public Administration course work with honors from the University of Florida College of Arts and Sciences before attending Law School in Los Angeles. At the University of Florida, Mr. Seide was active in Student Government, holding responsible elected and appointed positions, being the first Student Member of both the University Admissions and University Student Affairs Faculty Committees and is listed in the 1972 edition of Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. During his graduate studies at the University of Florida, Mr. Seide was an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy in the Uniform Patrol Division, where he became a shift supervisor, thereafter an Investigator and Acting Supervisor of the Juvenile Section and later became the Sheriff’s Office Director of Research and Planning. He was named Alachua County’s “Outstanding Young Law Enforcement Officer” for 1971.

In 1976, Mr. Seide moved to Los Angeles, California to attend the University of LaVerne, College of Law. While attending LaVerne, Mr. Seide wrote for the Student Newspaper, was invited to participate in the Moot Court Honors program, earned the Book Award in 4th Amendment Rights, and had an Internship with the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Public Counsel, while graduating in the top 25% of his class in 1979.

Mr. Seide, a Licensed Real Estate Broker since 1990, detoured through the world of banking
before practicing law, where he was a Residential Loan Office Manager, AVP District Loan Manager, and Vice President of Residential Lending at a major Southern California Saving and Loan Association.

Mr. Seide was admitted to the practice of law in California in 1992, the U.S. District Court
(Central District of California) and the U.S. Court of Appeals (Ninth Circuit) immediately thereafter. Mr. Seide was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2004.

Mr. Seide was a founding partner of Adelman & Seide, LLP in Encino and Calabasas, California.
Today, the Law Office of George N. Seide, APLC is Attorney to the Shulman Family Law Group. He has been in the exclusive practice of Family law since 1992, which includes Divorce, Paternity, Custody, Visitation, Child & Spousal Support, Same Sex Relationships and the issues related thereto and is known as a Specialist in the prosecution and defense of Contempt of Court actions. He is a long standing member of national and local Bar Associations, where he has served on their Executive Committees and has been and is currently active in the State Bar of California’s law practice specialty sections, having been the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the State Bar. Mr. Seide was the Chair of the State Bar Counsel of Sections and was appointed to the State Bar Board of Governors’ Task Force on Sections. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar’s Law Practice Management and Technology Executive Committee.

Mr. Seide is individually “AV” Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest national distinction available to an attorney, a significant honor, to those few who are bestowed with this rating each year for their commitment to professional standards, ethics and outstanding legal ability. Mr. Seide also concerned with humanitarian efforts has consistently contributed pro bono legal services to low income family law litigants through the non-profit Harriett Buhai Center and the Vincent Family Law Center. He has been an attorney volunteer in the Central District Domestic Violence Clinic, was the supervising attorney for the “Law Student Mediation Project” for two semesters in the Central District Superior Court and has been a volunteer Family Law Mediator in the Northwest District Superior Court for several years.

Mr. Seide has been designated a “Super Lawyer” by Thompson/Reuters legal publishers and Los Angeles Magazine for the past ten years. He also has been honored to be designated by them as one of the “Top 100 Attorneys in Southern California” from 2014 to date. In addition Mr. Seide in 2015 was honored to be designated as one of the “Top 100 Family Law Attorneys” in California by the American Association of Trial Attorneys.

Mr. Seide was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Classical Ballet, Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the Synagogue for the Performing Arts. He and his Australian Shepherd dog Boomer, a Certified “Therapy Dog” regularly visited pediatric patients in the Shriner’s Hospital LA and in Los Angeles’ Children’s Hospital. He is happily married and the father of an adult daughter, an elementary school teacher.
